Consumer protection laws do not apply in the same way to purchases between private individuals. Specifically:

• Your right to cancel under Regulation 29(1) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
• Your right to reject under Section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act does not apply.
• Goods do not need to be of satisfactory quality (Section 9) or fit for purpose (Section 10) under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If defects were clearly described or visible in photos, you cannot claim against the seller. However, if the item does not match its description, you have the right to ask for a refund or compensation.
